I have good and bad news... The bad news is that my guitar amp broke (bad timing as well... since my computer keyboard broke yesterday), and I don't feel like buying a new one.
The good news is that I found one of these babies on Ebay.

3D 7.1 USB sound card Adapter. |
BUT these come from HongKong, and the price was $2; the thing lasted a year and broke.
I could still do the synth and midi work with my netbook (I had to upgrade my RAM and overclock the little beast and it was still responding slowly to the midi) but it wasn't the same.
That happened around 6 months ago, and during that time I didn't need another adapter. But now that I don't have a way to tune my guitar or add effects to the sound I have to find something to replace my amp and tuner, and this is my solution.

One of the best things about this is that you don't need to carry any driver disk; it installs automatically so it works great if you want to use it for sound amplification with a laptop (it'll save you the hassle of carrying an amp).
Christmas is around the corner, and I know there's always a party that forces you to "trade gifts"; well this baby will make any musician happy. Or if you're looking for a proper gift for a guitarist that has a laptop or PC, give this adapter with a correct sound line and software to amplify the instrument.
Let me make a list for ya:
- The Adapter
- 3.5mm Male to 3.5mm Male Line
- 3.5mm Female to 6.35mm Male Stereo Jack adapter
- And a Disc containing the software that I use for amplification and guitar effects. GuitarFXBox.
I already bought my set, so it's not really a question if I should get it or not; but if you want to buy one make sure it comes from the US. US sellers offer warranty that you will probably need in less than a year. By buying it from US sellers on ebay, you'll be paying a bit more; but the shipping speed and warranty will be a welcomed addition.
