How to buy a piano? I need a new piano, and yamaha's YPG-235 is attractive.

Pianos... Today I realized my personal music keyboard's old, so old that I'm pretty sure it's about to die soon.  So being the me that I am, I went on to Google to search for a decent keyboard.  I already play a great Electric Piano at church, but I want something to play around the house, you know? I'm the type of guy that owns many instruments, I currently own 3 keyboards; BUT my favorite one is the one in the room, my mood breaker and sadly it's about to die.  Out of the many choices of pianos I found on the web, I was looking for a cheap but nice sounding keyboard to pass the time.  I needed a 72 keys keyboard, with midi and of course an assignable jack to plug my pedal.  I could care less what tunes it had internally since I just plug it to my PC for custom sounds, but I thought it might be nice to have a good old sound bank to play around.

After searching awhile, I found this little toy:

     It Features

  • 76 Piano style keys with Graded Soft Touch
  • Sound Quality:Separate woofers and tweeters deliver sounds with clarity and precision
  • Full Keyboard Mode enables you to play more like a traditional piano
  • 30 built-in songs with lessons for each hand and "repeat and learn" feature
  • Computer Connectivity: play your songs into the computer, edit, and e-mail them to your friends and family.
  • Master EQ: Tailor your sound. You're in Control with 5 master equalizer settings
  • Premium pack includes headphones, keyboard stand, and AC adapter.
It's more than what I need... I only needed a keyboard with good sounds; I can't even call this a little thing, it's a powerful piano.  The sounds, the rhythms, the usb controls, the keys are great quality, the equalizer and even a little lesson for those that want to learn.

Not only that but the package included a neat stand and headphones.  I was pretty well hooked; and well... I love buying musical instruments this one caught me by surprise.  I didn't expect the quality to be honest, and surely I got a lot more stuff for my buck.

The description's pretty well direct and truthful;

For Those Who Want More, Look No Further than the Yamaha YPG-235

If you're looking for a reasonably priced piano replacement, look no further than the YPG-235. It is the music student or professional musicians' answer to “I need more keys!” and many music teachers encourage new students to get a keyboard that will grow with their needs. It features 76 non-weighted keys that not only look like piano keys but have a Graded Soft Touch (GST) action with different levels of resistance, making it easier for a budding musician to move to an acoustic or digital piano.

Sound Quality: More Power. More Clarity. More Precision.

Yamaha always delivers, this piano has great sounds out of the box that are great for any situation; be it a church, a band practice, a house piano; this one is a sure winner.  Actually, I would say this is one of the best pianos I could recommend if you're looking for a keyboard for your church; this is one of those keyboard sets that goes great with anyone, any pianist will understand it, it's cheap so if you're starting out a church it might as well become your first instrument for worship and the sounds are high quality (I even got surprised how well the grand piano sounds).

The only thing I regret is that the keys are soft, not weighted; so it's still a midi keyboard; but if you're one of those players that can make music out of anything or you're just starting out, the YPG-235 will do the trick.

Should you get it? well... for 250, you'll be getting a great piano set, that could be your best friend for a few years if you're playing piano for fun.  If you're looking for your top dog to play on concerts, this is no Roland; but it's still a great practice or house piano.

If you want it you can get it here.
