The soda stream, homemade soda (kinda) fever.

I've been having an urge to drink soda lately, but I'm not one to get attached to cans. Since I've been trying to cut down my soda drinking habits, I only drink a lot of juices, milk and water, I was looking for a way to calm my soda urges without drinking actual soda. After searching the super market, I found sparkling water; sure, it's a gimmicky concept, BUT it kinda worked like soda, and the taste wasn't bad (it's actually pretty cool if you try different flavors) so I got a few. After a month or so of buying them I asked myself... "Loth, why don't you check on google to see if you can make this at your home like a true lazy person." I couldn't go against that logic, so I ended up on google; and found the SodaStream. The contraption that would save my lazy life from going to the supermarket to get some carbonated drinks (or sparkling drinks).

The SodaStream works pretty easily, on simple words; you select a syrup if you want to add flavor, you use the bottle of magic that will create the sparkles (a beverage level of C02 gas) and you press the button to create a sparkly drink.

The tastes are great, the machine's pretty amazing; and although the prices don't compete with just buying the bottles of simple sparkling water at the store, the different tastes, the saved gas, and the amazing feeling you get when you use it (you feel like a bartender) to mix up your favorite drinks and make them bubble up.

Are you asking if you should get it? well, the SodaStream's fun, and the taste of the sodas that you create are pretty amazing, but it's not really a necessity in your home; heck it's not even necessary at all since you can just buy your favorite soda at a store. But if you want to play around, experiment with different tastes, and impress your visit with some homemade sparkling water, then the sodastream is pretty cool.

I got it because I'm lazy, and curious; but the SodaStream's not a must have if you just want some soda.

The commercial's pretty straight forward; if you want more info you could just type SodaStream on youtube and see some reviews or comments. I like the thing, and in the long run you could say that you're paying for your yearly soda needs for about the same price as normal soda.

If you use it to much, you'll need lots of refills; so it'll still take you to the supermarket quite a bit if you don't stock up on them beforehand.

The price is around $80.00; and the bottles go for $10.00, it's a cool little thing; it's not necessary but the homemade soda tastes pretty great, and the feeling of creating it is pretty satisfying.
