FBI offering $5000 reward after bacon is found at Mosque

The associated press reports that the FBI is currently offering a $5000 USD reward for information that might net them the person who left some raw bacon around the door handles of a Las Vegas mosque.

There's surveillance video of the act, and the authorities are calling it a desecration of the Islamic worship center.

The crime is being investigated as a hate crime of course, but that doesn't live out the fact that we're at the point in history where a possible bacon prank receives full media coverage and it's labeled a hate crime. I'm not condoning the person that did it, but a $5000 dollar reward seems excessive. Why don't we put as much effort when someone paints graffiti all over the schools and public places?

I guess living in a remote island in the pacific doesn't seem that bad...
